"How will they believe in Him whom they have not heard?"  Romans 10:14

Purpose

The purpose of the Audio Visual Services Team is to create a distraction free environment, conducive to worship, to allow all people to hear the Word as it is preached, to support the programming needs of the pastoral staff, to support other Sandy SDA Church ministries, by providing sound, lighting and projection services, in/out of, the church sanctuary, and to record and distribute the messages by CD, DVD, or other viable media. While our main focus is supporting the Sabbath morning worship services, we also support every other Sandy SDA Church sponsored service, meeting or event that requires our services.

Support Requests

Members of the Audio Visual Services Team have been given the opportunity to serve God through serving you when you request:

  • Our service in advance for any upcoming service, meeting or event.
  • A rehearsal.
  • To have a Video, CD, DVD, PowerPoint or Satellite program to be played, projected or recorded.
  • Specific microphone preferences, needs or arrangements.
  • Any other audio, video or lighting needs specific to your part in a service, meeting or event that we can provide to you.

All Scheduling/Support Requests must be communicated to the Audio Visual Services Team Coordinator.  (Currently, Tony Fabian: 503-668-1252 or fabiant2000@hotmail.com). The Audio Visual Services Team Coordinator will schedule a technician and work with them on following through with your support request(s).

Support Requests & Request Changes for the Sabbath morning worship services must be submitted to the Audio Visual Services Team no later than the evening of the rehearsal.

If Projection is needed for your part or event, the AV Team must be given the projection materials at least one week prior to the first rehearsal, service, meeting or event it will be needed for.

Support Requests & Request Changes not related to the Sabbath morning worship services must be submitted no later than two weeks before the event. If projection is needed for your event, the AV Team must be given the projection materials at least one week prior to the first rehearsal, service, meeting or event it will be needed for.

Unfortunately we cannot guarantee that the service, meeting, event or your part of the aforementioned will be adequately supported if this policy is not followed.

Rehearsals

Rehearsal time is scheduled for every Friday night at 7pm. Rehearsal time gives the musician, singer, guest speaker ect. a chance to get acquainted with the arrangement of the sanctuary, what options are available, a chance to practice and make any last minute changes to their part of the program to enhance the worship of God.  This time allows the AV technician(s) to become familiar with the participants and their needs for their part in the service, collect all AV related materials to be used for the service, perform a sound check and have equipment operating properly for the service or event.

Rehearsals for Sabbath morning services are held Friday nights at
7pm in the church sanctuary hosted by the Audio Visual Tech(s) scheduled for that weekend.

Rehearsals for services or events other than Sabbath morning services can be scheduled by contacting the A/V Team Coordinator (fabiant2000@hotmail.com)with a minimum of one week notice and will be hosted by the Audio Visual Tech(s) scheduled for that week.

To make your request for a rehearsal known contact the church Audio Visual Services Team Coordinator as early as possible so they can contact the appropriate AV Tech(s) for that week and work with them on following through with your request(s).

Use of Media Equipment

In order to help safeguard and protect valuable church media equipment, only members of the Audio Visual Services Team are approved to operate media equipment (Audio mixer, light board ectra).

A member of the Audio Visual Services Team must supervise any of the following:

  • Use of microphones/cables, direct boxes ect.
  • Changing of microphone connections.

  • Church media equipment will not be used for anything other than church related activities without the authorization of the Audio Visual Services Team Coordinator.
  • No church media equipment, portable or otherwise, will be removed from the church without the authorization of the Audio Visual Services Team Coordinator.
